I've found a lot of good blogs and lists and reviews on everything I can think of, my favorite being Lucie's list. Give it a google if you need some baby gear advice. So I've been reading up and it's so hard to know what to do! Do I pick the nicer, more expensive brands because my baby will be safer and happier, or are they same as the cheap stuff without all the fancy gadgets and name brands? Or if I pick the cheap one will my baby die from my neglect and budget keeping? I really think it's all probably fine - someone would be taking this stuff off the market if it was causing major issues.
I was just reading reviews on hooded towels on amazon (I know, I shouldn't waste my time being picky about hooded towels, but I wanted to see how this one worked! It's hands free and ties around your neck and probably does magic tricks) and one of the reviews said that the product "did not allow for adequate towel cuddling." What the what? Is that what the future holds for me? I'll be sitting at home writing reviews for baby products based on their ability to snuggle my baby. "Buyer beware - this product does not provide my baby with the proper amount of cuddling required for her to have sweet dreams as the name suggests." First world problems, mama.
Lindsey was a big help yesterday. We walked through Buy Buy Baby and talked out the big stuff, so I'm feeling much less overwhelmed. I don't feel like I need every piece of baby gear out there, and with our apartment, I'm going to try and focus on the necessities for day to day survival. Where will she sleep? How I will I keep her clean? What will provide me with 20 minutes of sanity so that I can take a shower?
Now if I can get Diggy to stop barfing every. single. time. a baby is in our apartment, I might be set.
Diggy is clearly unimpressed with the snuggling capabilities of our hand towels.
Baby towels are worthless past 3 months old, they are too tiny and the hoods dont fit right... just use your towels washed in baby detergent. I made this discovery after miles was born and donated all but 3. In my opinion, you should buy the fanciest carseat and stroller you can. We have gone through a ton of convertible carseats for our cars and granparents cars and the straps get so hard to adjust on the cheap ones but my expensive ($200 combi) is still going strong. It has lasted 3 1/2 years of constant use.
